The Province level ESCR Network including some other human rights alliances, calling on the Provincial Government-5 to promptly respond to the coronavirus pandemic, has submitted a joint appeal to the Honorable Chief Minister, Shankar Pokharel to swiftly respond COVID19 with a new budget. Considering the adverse effect of COVID- 2019 worldwide, JuRI-Nepal has issued an eight-point appeal to address access to public resources for poor and marginalized communities in Nepal. The appeal has been formally submitted to the Government of Nepal, highly appreciating the efforts so far made by the Government to date. Civil society organizations today urged to swiftly appoint all commissioners. Civil society leaders, including commissioners of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), and other constitutional commissioners emphasized to timely appoint the constitutional commissioners which remained vacant for years.
