Justice and Rights Institute -Nepal (JuRI-Nepal) releasing a press statement today welcomes the government’s initiative to timely address the noble coronavirus pandemic. A high level coordination committee for COVID-19 prevention and control in Nepal has been formed under the coordination of honorable deputy prime minister and defense minister on 1 March, 2020. The World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March, 2020 has declared a global pandemic.

JuRI- Nepal also appeals fellow citizens to exercise restraint and strictly follow the government instructions. While JuRI-Nepal appreciates the government effort, it expresses serious concerns over the pandemic. JuRI-Nepal asks to the government to promptly expand COVID19 test centers at least in seven provinces, and take initiatives by the federal and provincial governments.
