JuRI-Nepal published the maiden issue of the ESCR e- bulletin in Nepali. It features issues related to events and agenda with respect to promotion and protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Nepal. JuRIin partnership with IM Swedish Development Partner under the Promoting Human Dignity Project (PHDP) regularly organizes ESCR dialogue series with the key stakeholders and highlight issues through various communication channels, including e-bulletin.

JuRI-Nepal signed an agreement with UNICEF for a project, “Support for Gender Based Violence Prevention and Child Protection Project”. As agreed on, this project will last on 12 June 2017. It was designed to facilitate implementation of UNICEF’s technical assistance to the Government agenciesand community groups engaged in protection of women and children from violence and abuse, including Gender Based Violence (GBV).

JuRI-Nepal in partnership with Sancharika Samuha and IHRICON comes up with a new publication – Laigik hinsa piditko nyayma pahuch (Access to justice for the victims of gender based violence). It is a resource manual published in Nepali for the campaigners who are fighting against sexual and gender-based violence. It was formally released by Honorable Prakash Osti, Acting Chair of the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal as well as former Supreme Court justice in an event organized in Kathmandu. JuRI Nepal has entered into an agreement with the IM Swedish Development Partner – a Swedish NGO headquartered in Lund, Sweden. It aims at building the capacity of IM’s local partners, including accelerating advocacy at the local and national level towards strengthening protection of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR) of the marginalized communities. It effects from 25th of May 2016.

On 14 December 2014, Justice and Rights Insttitute Nepal (JuRI-Nepal) and Support to Participatory Constitution Building in Nepal (SPCBN) Project of UNDP jointly organised a national symposioum on federalism, human rights and inclusion in Kathmandu. The event brought together more than 100 participants, mainly the leaders of major political parties, members of the Constituent Assembly, lawyers, human rights activists and journalists.
The event marked the culmination of the 27 interaction programmes held by JuRI-Nepal with the support of UNDP/SPCBN over the span of past two years in 27 districts throughout the country and was attended by 27 district delegates.
