ESCR Network likely to form in Nepal

24 August 2016, Kathmandu The civil society organizations working in the field of Economic Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) are all set to forma national network in order to enhance efforts in ensuring enjoyment of ESCR rights for all. The maiden issue of ESCR bulletin

  21 July, 2016, Kathmandu JuRI-Nepal published the maiden issue of the ESCR e- bulletin in Nepali. It features issues related to events and agenda with respect to promotion and protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Nepal. JuRIin partnership with IM Swedish Development Partner under the Promoting Human Dignity Project (PHDP) regularly organizes ESCR dialogue series with the key stakeholders and highlight issues through various communication channels, including e-bulletin.

JuRI partners with UNICEF

20 June 2016, Kathmandu! JuRI-Nepal signed an agreement with UNICEF for a project, “Support for Gender Based Violence Prevention and Child Protection Project”. As agreed on, this project will last on 12 June 2017. A manual on access to justice released

JuRI-Nepal in partnership with Sancharika Samuha and IHRICON comes up with a new publication – Laigik hinsa piditko nyayma pahuch (Access to justice for the victims of gender based violence). It is a resource manual published in Nepali for the campaigners who are fighting against sexual and gender-based violence. It was formally released by Honorable Prakash Osti, Acting Chair of the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal as well as former Supreme Court justice in an event organized in Kathmandu. JuRI signs a deal with Swedish partner

Kathmandu, 26 May, 2016 JuRI Nepal has entered into an agreement with the IM Swedish Development Partner – a Swedish NGO headquartered in Lund, Sweden. It aims at building the capacity of IM’s local partners, including accelerating advocacy at the local and national level towards strengthening protection of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR) of the marginalized communities.
