JuRI-Nepal successfully conducted its 5th Social Audit on 16th September 2024. The event was graced by Hon. Dev Raj Bishwokarma, Chair of the Dalit Commission, as the chief guest. Special guests included Mr. Manoj Bhatta, Member Secretary of the Social Welfare Council; Mr. Ram Prasad Subedi, Chair of the NGO Federation; Mr. Yagya Raj Adhikari, Joint Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission; and Ms. Kamala Bishowkarma, former Constituent Assembly member and Chair of Jagaran Media Center. The Justice and Rights Institute-Nepal (JuRI-Nepal) successfully held its 13th Annual General Assembly on 16th September 2024. During the event, Secretary General Mr. Rishi Prasad Neupane presented the progress report for the fiscal year 2080/2081, along with the plan for 2081/2082. Similarly, Treasurer Sharmila Parajuli delivered the audit report and the budget forecast for the upcoming fiscal year 2081/2082. The General Assembly approved both the progress and audit reports, while also discussing, amending, and passing various decisions made by the executive committee and the proposed policy agenda. The meeting was presided over by JuRI-Nepal’s Chairperson Advocate Rukamanee Maharjan.
