The five days[1] Master Trainer of Training on gender transformative dialogue manual for year II (2024) under Hamro Sahakarya Project enhance knowledge and skills of 28 participants/trainers (Dalit:17, Janjati:5, Madeshi:3, BCT:3) on leadership from five project districts[2]. The Year II manual include ten comprehensive modules that contains subjects like; effective communication skills, interpersonal communication and facilitation, public speaking, decision making, negotiation and conflict resolution etc.

The training focused on providing participants with skills that helped them to amplify their voices, negotiate, make decisions and find community based solutions to address harmful norms and practices. The training was facilitated by Waithira Gonkyo and Ami Sen Gupta from Rain Barrel Communication along with national trainer Tika Dahal (with support from UN Women & Government of Finland) for the project consortium partners[3] districts trainers and project staff.

The facilitators ensure participatory and interactive approaches using tools and techniques like; self- reflection, stories, role plays, use of art, game and real life case studies, group work etc. Beside with this, mock and feedback sessions from participants was also conducted.

Moving ahead, these participants/district trainers are mobilized as pool of local resource persons/experts to facilitate Province Level MToT in Surkhet and Sudurpachhim Province[4] on gender transformative dialogues.

All together 58 community facilitators/volunteers (Dalits:45, Janjati:8 and BCT:5)are equipped with the knowledge and skills to expedite twelve REFLECT sessions within Self-Help Groups in project locations. This year project aims to conduct 240 REFLECT sessions within 20 SHGs in ten project LGUs and reach out to 520 SHGs members.

This trainings also promotes participatory monitoring and collective resource mobilization to advance critical reflections, behavior change and challenges gender discriminative norms across project LGUs.
