JuRI-Nepal as secretariat of ESCR National Network, hosted and facilitated a dialogue with Member of National Planning Commission on 5th April 2022 to pay NPC's attention to allocate budget focusing on ESC Rights agendas/areas. As chief guest of the program Hon'ble Dr. Ram Kumar Phuyal, Member of National Planning Commission has committed to prioritize budget during planning stage on ESCR and GESI. JuRI-Nepal in collaboration with all eight partners (JMC, FTG, SSDC, DSDC, IRDC, SWAN, FKDF and SEED) published 7,000 leaflets on "Human Rights Based Approach (Manab Adhikarmukhi Awodharana)" in April 2022. These leaflets were distributed to all partners and local governments in May 2022. The aim of the publication was to promote human rights based approach in the development sector. Right to employment is one of the important fundamental rights as well as one of the important sources of livelihood and income generation. To map the situation of labor rights under Prime Minister Employment Program (PMEP), JuRI-Nepal reviewed the implementation status of the Prime Minister Employment Program Operation Guidelines and its implementation status in its working areas. JuRI-Nepal and alliances of media organizations (including Federation of Nepalese Journalist) and civic advocates have been conducting regular advocacy to ensure the civic space as per the constitutional spirit. Due to the continued lobby and public pressure from larger CSOs and media organizations, Lumbini Province Government, replaced previous Media Bill and promulgated a new Media Bill with more than 50% of changes.
