JuRI-Nepal facilitated a dialogue with parliamentarians focusing on statutory limitation on rape case and role of parliamentarians on 30 May 2022. On behalf of JuRI-Nepal, Advocate Raju Prasad Chapagai presented a paper highlighting statute of limitation, current barriers of access to justice, equality and contentious provisions of laws to harmonize constitutional and legal provisions to ensure human rights and access to justice. JuRI- Nepal submitted its review report and advocacy policy brief on increasing access of marginalized communities in crops and livestock's insurance to Hon'ble Purna Kumari Subedi, Chairperson, Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee of the House of Representative on 23 June 2022. JuRI has reviewed insurance-related laws and policy focusing on rights of marginalized communities. JuRI Nepal in partnership with Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) is implementing project called “Pathways from trauma to empowerment, fostering social norms through story-telling and collective mobilization” in ten local government units[1] of Sudurpachhim and Karnali Provinces. JuRI-Nepal led to hand over formal submission to all the major political parties to ensure fair and inclusive local election and memorandum was submitted on 21 February 2022, it was submitted through the secretariat of ESCR National Network.
Before the finalization of the memorandum, JuRI-Nepal organized a virtual interaction program with ESCR National Network on 18 February 2022. JuRI-Nepal handed over the memorandum to Prime Minister Ser Bahadur Deuwa requesting to ensure women participation in upcoming election. The vent was conducted on 12 Nov. 2021.
