Flyer on Seven Steps Planning Process of local Government

This knowledge product is prepared under “Hamro Sahakarya” Project which is being implemented by the consortium of JuRI Nepal and FEDO in ten local government units of Sudurpachhim and Karnali Provinces. This project is funded and technically supported by UN Women and Government of Finland. The Project overall goal is to address harmful norms and discriminatory practices that undermines gender equality.
The 7 steps planning process flyer aims to enhance knowledge and understanding of targeted marginalized and socially excluded community/groups about the local level planning process and motivates them to participate in the process, put their agendas, community priorities and plan in the planning meetings at tole/wards and palikas. In the long-run the engagement of marginalized groups in the planning process also promotes their access to local resources and services, create their ownership in the local development agendas.
At the same time the knowledge product also sensitize duty bearers, elected representatives about the planning process and make them more accountable to ensure meaningful participation of marginalized groups and incorporate GESI agendas and community priorities in the upcoming fiscal year budget and program.
This flyer can be taken as a reference material by development organization to facilitate training/orientation session on LGU planning process and also for local level advocacy to ensure meaningful participation of target groups and local stakeholders in the various steps of planning process for gender responsive governance.
