Accomplished Consultations on GBVEF Operation and GESI CIP implementation in 16 LGUs
JuRI Nepal, with the support from UNFPA under GBVPR II project organized 16 consultations from 22 March 2026 to 12 June 2026 on Gender Based Violence Elimination Fund (GBVEF) Operation and GESI CIP implementation status in 16 LGUs of Koshi and Sudurpaschim Province (Koshi: Biratnagar, Triyuga, Katari, Belaka, Chaudandigadhi,
Siddhicharan, Manebhanjyang, Chishankhugadhi and Molung, and Sudurpashchim: Dashrathchand, Jayaprithvi, Bitthadchir, Budhiganga, Sanphebagar, Mangalsen and Kamalbazar).
The objective of the activity was to support target LGUs in developing the GBVEF Operation Act and Regulation and reinforce the effective implementation of the GESI CIP. Altogether, 457 (37.6% women) including Mayors/Chairs, Deputy Mayors/Vice Chairs, CAOs, Section Officers, Ward Chairs, Palika Executive Members and CSO representatives of the respective LGUs participated in the consultation events. Through the consultations, 17 LGUs got technical support in drafting GBVEF Operation Act & Regulation and handed over the draft Act and Regulation to them. A reputed legal expert Advocate Sarmila Shrestha provided technical support during the entire process.
