The three days Transformative Feminist Leadership Training Manual is developed based upon key findings of Capacity Needs Assessment conducted by JuRI–Nepal and NNDSWO in 2020 with elected women’s representatives and community leaders in Sudurpachhim province. The training manual aims to address the key capacity gaps of EWRs and community leaders by enhancing their knowledge, skills on feminist leadership, values, principles, power relation, gender equality and collective movements. The key content of training manual covered subject like; understanding multiple discrimination, intersectionality, gender equality, power and patriarchy, feminism and its development, feminist values and principles such as; sharing power, respecting diversity, ending GBV, Feminism is for everyone and everyday life, collective efforts, gender justice, personal is political transformative leadership, reflecting self-leadership through feminist values, creating safe space for transformative leadership and planning. The training manual focus on reflective and adult based learning techniques like; personal experience and learning sharing, reflection, group work, different exercise and also power point presentations.

JuRI-Nepal have already enrolled this manual in two different capacity development trainings in Kailali and Doti district of Sudurpachhim Province under Comprehensive Capacity Development Project supported by UN Women Nepal. All together 54 elected women representatives (Dalits: 16, Janjati: 15, BCT: 23) participated in the three days training and enhanced their knowledge, understanding and skills.

“As a result of the training, I took the initiation to put the agenda in LGU meeting for the allocation of emergency fund to respond SGBV cases. Now, I am also conscious on my own meaningful participation in the ward meeting. I share my views, strategically put my agenda and sign the meeting minute reading the decision note. Now, I have made my stand point in the ward meeting and ward committee members look for my views. This manual can be a worthy reference/resource materials to the Trainers, CSOs, Women’s rights activist groups, networks, researcher and student to acquire knowledge and tools for similar knowledge production, capacity development initiatives and research studies.
