The first Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting of a project – dedicated to advance gender responsive, inclusive governance, and promotion of substantive participation of the elected women representatives in Nepal’s Sudur Paschim – concluded in Kathmandu today.
Justice and Rights Institute (JuRI-Nepal) in partnership with Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organisation (NNDSWO) has kicked off a project, “Comprehensive Capacity Development Support to the Elected Women Representatives”in six Local Government Units of Kailali and Doti districts. Basanta Adhikari, executive director welcomed all and set tone of discussion. Anita Bhujel, who leads the team briefly highlighted project plan, and progress. Her presentation included among others objective, plan, progress, key activities, expected results, and monitoring mechanisms.
The nine members project advisory committee includes representatives from Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ministry of Social Development and Federal Affairs of Sudurpaschim Province, National Federation of Disabled Nepal, UN Women, NNDSWO and JuRI Nepal.
PAC members and other participants offered suggestions to the project’s team. The PAC meeting was chaired by advocate Pankaj Kumar Karna – the JuRI’s chairperson.
