“The training was so effective, I learnt about so many tools that will help me to aware my community and SHGs members. I was privileged to participate in this trainings from Badi community. I will work as a community leaders and advocate in the different issues of my community.”  Said, Dhansara Badi, Jhupra Surkhet during closing sessions of five days training in Birendranagar, Surkhet.

The five days Province level Training of Trainers on “Facilitation Manual of Promoting Gender Transformative Dialogues” were conducted in the Sudurpaschim Province and in Karnali Province in second week of June 2023 under Hamro Sahakarya Project. The training was facilitated by Province level MToT Trainers who were capacitated by UN Women and Rain Barrel Communication in March 2023, at Sauraha Chitwan.

  The main objectives of the training was to enhance knowledge and skills of the community facilitators/SHGs volunteers on trainings modules and in different facilitation tools.  All together 40 community facilitators (Dalits: 30, BCT:8 and Janjati :2) participated in 5 days trainings and enhanced their knowledge and skills on the manuals. Among them 39 were women and only one was men from the project SHGs/communities.

The training modules includes twelve session, each sessions were designed for two hours. The training focused adult-friendly mythologies and tools that helps participants to share and learn from their own experiences, stories and reflect/link on the feminist values, ethics and principle for gender equality and inclusion.

Trainings was made interactive and participatory using tools and game like; Bingo, I am…. Template, Famous me, Flower power, power walk, Invisible Doko template, discrimination wheel, river of life, body mapping, role play group work etc.

The five days trainings were concluded with the demo facilitation sessions of participants in four different modules and individual action plan to reach each SHGs. At the end participants were awarded with training completion certificates.

Few reflection/Insights from the trainings participants:

 “This is the first training in my life, I have experienced different kinds of violence and discrimination in my life that I realized more from this training sessions. I had reflected my everyday life in many tools during training. The training methodologies were very simple and effective.
