National Network for ESCR Rights, and Justice and Rights Institute (JuRI) Nepal has produced a paper for advocacy in order for the people in need to ensure accessibility of quality public health particularly right to safe motherhood, and productive health. This also contributes in promotion of the state’s responsive, and accountability in ensuring public health in the time of coronavirus pandemic.

JuRI-Nepal looked at whether or not the Right to Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Act- 2075 (2018) is in line with the human rights standard. The organization also examined whether or not the Acts and policies in place can be implemented based on the principle of equality and equity.

Prepared by advocate Sarmila Shrestha, this paper offers a set of recommendations for the government to amend the Right to Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Act- 2075 (2018) and Public Health Act 2075. The author made the recommendations based on the analysis of legal provisions in relation to the Acts, guidelines, policies, including Lumbini Province Health policy-2077.
