JuRI-Nepal as secretariat of ESCR National Network, hosted and facilitated a dialogue with Member of National Planning Commission on 5th<\/sup> April 2022 to pay NPC’s attention to allocate budget focusing on ESC Rights agendas\/areas.\u00a0 As chief guest of the program Hon’ble Dr. Ram Kumar Phuyal, Member of National Planning Commission has committed to prioritize budget during planning stage on ESCR and GESI. Advocate Mohan Lal Acharya, Executive Director of JuRI-Nepal, presented a paper on formulating human rights friendly budget. He also shared that, JuRI-Nepal has been coordinating with the members of ESCR National Network creating demand to ensure the economic, social and cultural rights.<\/p>\n

ESCR national network is focusing on basic ESCR including education,\u00a0\"\"health, and employment of women, Dalit, Janjati, marginalized communities, person with disabilities, LGBTIQ, poor people etc. as per the constitutional mandate. Budget Speech 2022\/023 has the special provision on access of quality education. They have also adopted flexible provisions for accessing loan for deprived people, Dalit and permanent resident of backward areas. Despite the dialogue event, JuRI-Nepal including the members of 37 ESCR National Network discussed and submitted the joint submission to formulate human rights-based budget and submitted a written memorandum to National Planning Commission and Finance Ministry.\u00a0 See the full submission of budget advocacy.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
