Justice and Rights Institute-Nepal (JuRI-Nepal), in collaboration with Sancharika Samuha Nepal and Institute of Human Rights Communication Nepal has produced Project Achievement Report of Access to Justice Project (A2A-A2J Project). This report narrates major project achievements of the project implemented during the period of November, 2015 to 31st October, 2018 with the financial support from Governance Facility Nepal. Most of the project activities under this project were implemented in six project focus districts (Ramechhap, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Siraha, Sunsari and Kapilvastu).

This report highlights contributions of the major project activities– Mobilization of Media, Community Policing, Community Legal Information and Assistance Mechanisms, Video Van, Community Outreach, Judgment Watch Forum, Formation and Mobilization of Access to Justice Network, Legal Aid Support, Public Interest Litigation and Assessment of Supreme Court Judgments including others.

With the implementation of this project, JuRI including its consortium partners has contributed to increase culture of accountability and zero tolerance for 365 days campaign against violence against women and girls, increased use of legal aid services by women and girls of marginalized communities and enhanced public trust and confidence in the criminal justice system from local to national levels achievement Report A2J project.

This report also narrates some success stories, challenges and lessons learnt. We are hopeful that the sharing of this information may support to relevant stakeholders to design new program and implement such initiatives to enhance access to justice in future.
