VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Justice and Rights Institute Nepal (JuRI-Nepal), a national NGO, invites applications from the interested qualified candidates for the following position under the Promoting Human Dignity Project in partnership with IM Swedish Development Partner. The major components of the project contain review of laws and policies related to economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR); rights/evidence-based advocacy and policy dialogues; capacity enhancement of CSOs, local partners of IM and other stakeholders; and constructive engagement with the duty-bearers towards the realization of ESCR of marginalized people, including women and girls.

Position: Project Coordinator, based in Kathmandu with frequent field visits
Duration: August, 2017 – December, 2018
Gross annual salary: NPR 910,000.00 and other benefits as per organization’s HR policy

Main duties and responsibilities: Lead the effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of the project under the overall guidance and supervision of the Executive Director of JuRI-Nepal. She will enhance the capacity of CSOs, local partners of IM and other stakeholders; monitor and document cases and incidents related to ESCR, SGBV and discrimination in close coordination with the local partners: promote ESCR dialogues; and coordinate evidence-based advocacy at all levels. 

Qualifications and experience: Master’s degree in human rights, law, social sciences, development studies or any other relevant subjects with minimum five years of working experience in human rights  and development sector with particular focus on livelihood, girls’ education, SGBV and project management. Excellent coordination, networking, communication and facilitation skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Nepali.
